Hard-edge geometric abstraction where concept and reality intersect. Architectural form, bold color and simplified figure create imagined spaces that invite a second look.
Matie K is a painter based in Newton, Massachusetts. She calls her work Narrative Geometry: paintings that tell stories through shapes, where geometry creates a world that combines realism and imagination - the real and the mind.
Her acrylic paintings use bold geometric shapes to suggest architectural spaces. Overlapping forms and long shadows create scenes that follow an emotional logic rather than a literal one. Color and structure leave room for viewers to find their own stories.
Primarily self-taught, she also studied painting for two years at the Bat Yam Institute of Art in Israel. Her work has been shown in galleries in Massachusetts and Newport, Rhode Island.
